'A portrait of my son, once a week, every week in 2014.'

George: A fleeting moment of hesitation before launching yourself through a tunnel of fun. Perfecting your speed crawl and tiring yourself out (yippee!) at the teddy bears picnic with all of your buddies. We play and laugh and pretend the dishes and laundry don't exist (don't tell Dad). I will never grow tired of playing with you I promise.

FUZZY PHOTOS

I've taken a fancy to fuzzy photos. So much so that I now try and trick my camera to shoot out of focus (I'm sure there's probably an app that does it for you but I'm not that technically savvy).

The wash and blur of these pics adds a soft melancholy to them, reminding me where I was in that moment and thinking fondly of those memories.
Although the detail in each image isn't clear you get this warm and fuzzy feeling from the hints of features that you can make out - wispy cotton wool ball clouds, silos in the distance of wheat fields, arches of an aqua-duct and power lines stretching on the horizon.
The colours also become the focus of each image, the eye blurs the vibrant landscape tones together and you can picture a scene in harsh daylight, early dawn or a setting afternoon sun.

Me thinks I will continue to take these bad photos and enjoy them, whether anyone else does is another question.

WEEKLY STILLS

Back to life, back to reality.

1. A sleepy baby this week. Snoozing in the stroller while the other babies splashed and played in the pool at the Plex. Waking up just in time to devour a smorgasbord of fruit!
2. Back to walks to the park where there once stood a dead wood tree.
3. Birds and colourful cranes and bits and bobs.
4. Back to the beloved blinds.
5. Back to the beloved clothes hanger.
6. Back to exploring the garden.
7. A fuzzy photo from the lovely Cossack art awards opening night. I feel a blog post about fuzzy photos coming on.
8. Little pots for sale at the Pom Pom A Day Cossack Family Day stall.
9. Little hands making many pom poms.

''A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2014.''

George: "Oh you mean this monkey hiding behind the couch, wedged between the pram and the pillow to find the beloved blinds? Sorry Mum I didn't realise you were talking to me"
Me: "Yes you little monkey, come out of there please"
George: "But I am quite happy here pulling up on these blinds Mum, I could stay here all day if you would let me"
Me: "I know that George but that day is not today sorry dear"

We have this conversation a couple of times a day. I really should just pull up the blinds but that would spoil all his fun wouldn't it!

As you can see, he has quite the vocabulary now ;)
